Source checking with Jev
Optionally verify each summary against its source with Jev, and turn it off at any time.
Source checking is an optional step that compares each finished summary with the source text you summarized. Flagged claims are corrected automatically before the summary is saved to your local history.
It runs through Jev, a model made by TypeSafe. Jev is the name people know it by, so Reduz uses that name too. It is separate from the AI provider you use to summarize.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”A Jev key from TypeSafe. This is a different key from your summarizing provider’s key, and TypeSafe bills it separately.
Turn it on
Section titled “Turn it on”- Open the extension Settings and find Source checking with Jev in the provider list.
- Paste your Jev key into that row.
- Click Test to confirm the key works.
- Summarize as usual. Each finished summary is checked before it is saved.
Where your text goes
Section titled “Where your text goes”While a check runs, and only then, Reduz sends the finished summary and the most
relevant source passages directly from your browser to api.typesafe.ai. TypeSafe
processes that content under its own terms. Your summarizing provider still
receives the text for the summary itself. Reduz receives neither.
Turn it off
Section titled “Turn it off”Remove the Jev key in Settings to disable checking. Summaries you already saved stay in your local history.
