Customize your prompts

Use editable prompts with placeholders, ask for evidence, and keep prose clear.

A useful prompt says what to keep, how much to write, and how to handle uncertainty. Reduz supports editable prompts for different reading tasks.

Put the {content} placeholder where the extracted source text belongs. Add the others when the prompt needs more context:

  • {title}: the page or video title
  • {url}: the source URL
  • {metadata}: source metadata such as author or date
  • {language}: the detected language

For a paper, request the question, method, findings, and limitations. For a report, ask for the main claim, supporting numbers, and open questions. Instruct the model not to invent missing details, and to say when the source does not answer something.

Prefer short factual sentences, named attribution, and concrete comparisons. Built-in summaries and image headlines include their own editorial guidance; custom prompts keep the instructions you write.
