Connect Google Gemini to Reduz
Set up your Google AI Studio API key for direct-provider summaries with local history.
To summarize with Gemini, add your own Google AI Studio API key to Reduz.
- Create a provider key. Open aistudio.google.com/app/apikey and create a key in the Google AI Studio project you want to use. Check its quota and API access.
- Add the key in Reduz. Install Reduz, open Settings, select Google Gemini, and paste the key into that provider’s row.
- Test the connection. Click Test. If quota or access fails, check the AI Studio project before summarizing.
- Summarize a source. Open a readable article, PDF, or captioned video and choose Bullets, Post, or Full. Results are saved locally.
Configured model
Section titled “Configured model”Reduz uses Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite for all tasks with this provider. It sets thinking to the lowest level Gemini supports, which keeps summaries fast.
API costs and availability
Section titled “API costs and availability”Reduz is free to install and requires your own provider key. Google bills API usage under the project’s current prices and quota. Quotas vary by model and account.
Local keys and history
Section titled “Local keys and history”Your key and saved history stay in this browser. Source text goes directly from your browser to Google. Reduz receives neither.
