Summarize a PDF
Reduz reads PDF text in the browser and sends only the extracted text to your provider.
Reduz reads PDF text in the browser. The PDF file is not uploaded to Reduz; the extracted text is sent to the AI provider you chose, which is also how a web page or article is summarized.
Open a readable PDF
Section titled “Open a readable PDF”Open the document in Chrome, invoke Reduz, and approve temporary origin access if prompted. If you cannot select text in the PDF, it is probably an image-only scan with no text layer, and it needs OCR first.
Understand the data path
Section titled “Understand the data path”Source text goes directly from your browser to the AI provider you select. Your API key and saved history stay in this browser. Reduz does not receive your provider key or the document text.
Review the result
Section titled “Review the result”Tables, equations, multi-column layouts, and scanned pages can throw off extraction. Check that the extracted text is complete, and compare the summary with the PDF before you rely on it for anything technical or legal.
