ReduzReduz Help

Introduction

Guides for summarizing videos, PDFs, articles, and pages with Reduz and your own AI provider key.

Reduz is a Chrome extension that summarizes what you are reading or watching — YouTube videos, PDFs, articles, pages, and selected text. It is BYOK (bring your own key): you connect an AI provider account you already have, so your key and your saved history stay in your browser and source text goes straight from the browser to the provider you chose.

These guides cover the extension and the manual at reduz.app. Use the navigation on the left to browse by topic, or the search box in the header to jump straight to an answer.

The Quickstart installs the extension, connects a provider, and saves your first summary in a few minutes. After that, the guides below cover what most people need.

  • No account. There is no Reduz sign-up, subscription, or login.
  • Keys stay local. Your provider API key is stored in the extension in this browser, never on a Reduz server.
  • History stays local. Saved summaries live in your browser profile. Export them as Markdown, PDF, or DOCX, or download everything as JSON or a Markdown ZIP before uninstalling.
  • You pay the provider. Reduz is free to install; the AI provider bills API usage under its own prices and limits.
  • Optional source checking. Add a Jev key to verify each summary against its source before it is saved.

Troubleshooting covers the issues that come up most often. If none of it helps, email support@reduz.app. We never need your API key to help you — do not send it.
